Picked up these two friends at the Virginia Distillers Association Roadshow this past weekend in Charlottesville. Reservoir Hunter & Scott Rye and Catoctin Creek Roundstone Rye. Wonder who's going to be the first one in the pool this evening?
We had a great time at the Virginia Distillers Association Roadshow in Charlottesville this weekend. Some wonderful Virginia Ryes were available for tastings. Franklin County Distilleries (141 was kickin and smooth), Catoctin Creek (loved the cask proof maple finished), and Reservoir (Hunter & Scott Rye was delicious). https://catoctincreekdistilling.com/ http://franklincountydistilleries.com/ https://www.reservoirdistillery.com/ I had the opportunity to take the distiller for a day workshop there this past Saturday. What a great experience. The owner, John Davenport was extremely knowledgeable about the whole Virginia distillery industry and gave me hands on technical knowledge of the steps you need to go through to insure a great product. I learned an enormous amount. The place itself is wonderfully comfortable and friendly. You can tell everyone that works there really cares about their customers and the experience had. It's well run and the products are first rate. They've got an American Whiskey sure to go places. This place is well worth coming by for a visit, you will definitely enjoy it. http://www.threecrossesdistilling.com/
